Liliopsida is the class which it fall in and it is of arecales order. it is in the family of arecaceae and in the genus of cocos. The species of cocnut is c.nucifera. the binomial name for coconut tree is cocos nucifera. It is a type of palm tree , which may grow upto 30m in height. The leaves of a coconut tree are 4 -6 m long.
